Hi, I’m Naman Mutalik Desai, but around here I go by The Ridge Guy. I live in Redmond Ridge, study at Tesla STEM High School, and spend plenty of time following the NBA (expect some strong opinions on Luka versus Steph). When I’m not writing about basketball, you’ll probably find me tinkering with an Arduino, trying to get sensors to do something interesting in my garage.
I also care deeply about community and making a difference. I have served as a Youth Ambassador with the Gates Foundation, worked with the Redmond Youth Partnership Advisory Committee where I referee youth basketball games, and explored projects on sustainability and environmental justice as a Mike Yarrow Peace Fellow. Each opportunity has reminded me that positive change often starts small, with simple acts of support and connection.
At the end of the day, I am someone who loves combining curiosity, creativity, and community, whether that means coding side projects, planning events, or just cheering loudly for the NBA.
